After completing his primary and secondary education in Elazig and Malatya, he won Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 1998 and started his medical education. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 2005, after 18 months of compulsory service in Çankırı Yapraklılı/Ä°kizören Health Center, In 2007, he won the medical specialization exam and started as a General Surgery assistant at Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital. He completed his specialization in 2013 and started his mandatory service in Giresun/Alucra.
Since 2014, he left the public sector and worked on obesity in various private institutions. He worked in the field of advanced laparoscopic surgery, obesity surgery, worked in the field of traditional and complementary medicine, worked on diabetic foot and chronic wound healing.
He is a member of Turkish Surgery Association, Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association, Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery Association, Turkish Obesity Surgery Association, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Association.
Salim Balın has an intermediate level of English. His special interests include bariatric surgery - Holistic Approaches to Obesity, tumor surgery, diabetic foot chronic wound care and Functional Medicine (integrative). In his field, he wrote chapters in medical books and made various studies published in Turkey and abroad. He is married and has 2 children.
